abroad since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Khaled El Enany, the
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, attended a dinner hosted by the Mayor of Kiev
Vitali Klitschko that was also attended by the major tour operators in Ukraine ...
This event took place during the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities’ tour to
the Ukrainian capital Kiev and the Belarusian capital Minsk, along with a
tourism delegation consisting of the Head of theEgyptian Tourism Federation,
the Head of the Chamber of Tourism Companies, the Head of the Red Sea Investors
Association, the Head of the South Sinai Investors Association, and Ambassador
Magued Mosleh, the General Supervisor for the Central Administration for
International and Public Relations at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Hosam el-Din Ali the
Egyptian Ambassador to Ukraine, the Head of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, and the Head of the Egyptian-Ukrainian Friendship Group have also
attended the dinner.
Before the dinner event,
Dr Khaled El Enany had a meeting with the Mayor of Kiev and the tour operators
to look for ways to promote cooperation between both parties in the field of
tourism, boost bilateral tourism between both countries, and increase the
number of incoming tourists from Ukraine during this coming period. The
Ukrainian party commended the Minister for his visit, noting that he is the
first Egyptian Minister of Tourism to visit Ukraine in a long time.
During the meeting, the
Minister gave a presentation on the precautionary procedures and hygiene safety
regulations that Egypt has set in place in order to ensure the health and
safety of tourists and employees in the tourism sector with the resumption of
inbound tourism to Egypt.
He also stressed the
deep relations between Egypt and Ukraine, and the cooperation between them in
the field of tourism, pointing to the fast-growing Ukrainian market as one of
the most promising for tourism in Egypt, second only to German tourists.
The Minister pointed out
that 39 flights from Ukraine have already gone to Sharm al-Sheikh and Hurghada
since the resumption of tourism starting July, and all incoming tourists have
had pleasant stays in Egypt, praising Egypt’s hygiene and safety regulations.
The Mayor of Kiev gave a
speech about Ukraine’s desire to support cooperation with Egypt in the field of
tourism and antiquities, and expressed how happy he was about the minister’s
visit to Ukraine.
He also pointed to the
fact that the Ukrainian people know a lot about Egypt, and that they enjoy
visiting Egypt’s Red Sea beaches, its beautiful sites, and the wide variety of
tourism that Egypt has to offer. He also expressed his great desire to visit
Egypt himself to get to know its culture that has such deep roots.
In a move that is
certain to have a positive effect on the number of incoming Ukrainian tourists,
Ukraine has removed Egypt from its COVID-19 “red list” for travellers
