Luxor - Eco – Nariman Yanny : Within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ strategy for a comprehensive digital transformation in archaeological sites and museums, the operation of the first phase of electronic payment machines for entry tickets to the Luxor and Karnak temples began today, which will replace the manual ticket payment system ...
Dr. Khaled Sharif,
Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Transformation,
explained that the operation of the first phase of the ticket system enables
tourists to obtain electronic tickets to enter these temples and pay for them
using credit cards, which are read using a hand-reader.
He pointed to the
completion of the electronic system and the installation and operation of
electronic gates in the temples, immediately after the completion of the Luxor
festive activities scheduled to be held tomorrow, Thursday.
He added that it is
scheduled to follow up on the work of the electronic transformation project in
the West Bank region, which comes within the ministry's project to develop
visitor services in more than 30 archaeological sites and museums nationwide,
including the use of electronic tickets instead of paper and the installation
of electronic gates.
It is noteworthy that the electronic gates system has been activated in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and the Pyramids area.
