Cooperation Protocol between Culture Ministry, MCIT to Revive Intellectual, Artistic Heritage Using AI, VR


 
Cairo – Eco – Fady Labib : The Minister of Culture Inas Abdel-Dayem has stated that the Ministry of Culture, with all its bodies and sectors, is in the process of applying the national project for modernizing Egypt, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) ...

The aim is to leverage modern ICT tools, given the significance of preserving the forms of cultural and artistic heritage, and introducing young people to the heritage landmarks using technology, today’s global language. This is in addition to reviving the Egyptian cultural and artistic heritage through using 3D display technologies – hologram, and other advanced systems.

Abdel-Dayem also said that the Egyptian creativity heritage is part of the Arab identity, parts of which became renowned worldwide for their uniqueness, authentic values and sublime principles.

Moreover, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat said that MCIT is providing all kinds of support, modern ICTs, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR) and hologram technologies to implement the national project for modernizing Egypt and developing the Egyptian cultural and artistic heritage.
Talaat underlined the significance of collaboration with the Ministry of Culture to use the latest technologies to preserve, make available and maximize the return of the great Egyptian heritage, within the framework of building digital Egypt.

The Ministry of Culture, represented by Cairo Opera House Chairman Magdy Saber, signed a cooperation protocol with MCIT, represented by the Deputy Minister for Infrastructure Raafat Hindy. The aim is to revive the Egyptian cultural and artistic heritage using AI, VR and hologram.

The two-year protocol provides for setting short and medium term plans, to be implemented during the coming months through organizing a number of shows using holograms of great late artists, including Umm Kulthum, Mohammed Abdel Wahab and Abdel Halim Hafez, with all the necessary measures taken to make sure the shows come out in the highest possible quality.

This is in addition to setting a long term plan for establishing a laboratory for developing the Egyptian cultural and artistic heritage using AI and VR, depending on leading Egyptian technical calibers in this field, with providing them with the necessary training.
