President El Sisi welcomed HRH Prince Mohamed bin Salman and asked his greetings to be conveyed to Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz. President El Sisi underscored Egypt’s leadership and people’s profound appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in light of the historic relations and bonds the two countries share. He reiterated the steadfast, longstanding and firm strategic alliance between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and asserted that the kingdom’s security and stability are integral to Egypt’s national security.
On bilateral relations, President El Sisi stressed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in a broad array of fields. He emphasized the need to hold intensive bilateral meetings between the two countries’ senior officials periodically for close coordination on the rapid developments unfolding in the Middle East. This is in addition to enhancing joint Arab and Islamic unity and action in the face of the various regional challenges.
HRH Prince Mohamed bin Salman conveyed to President El Sisi the greetings of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He confirmed that his current visit to Egypt is part of the ongoing close and outstanding relations that bind the two countries which share a common destiny and future. He added that the visit also comes to further advance bilateral cooperation across all levels.
The meeting focused on frameworks as well as prospects of cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The two sides expressed appreciation for the level of cooperation and coordination achieved, and underlined the need to further advance them for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples, primarily in economic and investment areas. This shall take place by leveraging the opportunities available to foster integration and by building on the positive outcomes achieved during the recent mutual visits by the two countries’ officials.
On issues in the Middle East, the meeting tackled a multitude of prominent regional dossiers. The discussions underscored a mutual understanding with regard to ways to address these issues. The two sides agreed to continue joint efforts toward reaching political settlements to the ongoing crises in a number of countries in the region. These solutions shall preserve the sovereignty, territorial integrity and resources of these countries and achieve the aspirations of their peoples, by working to crystallize a comprehensive vision to enhance joint Arab action in order to strengthen Arab capabilities in the face of the challenges facing the region and the growing threats to regional security. The two sides agreed to boost Egyptian-Saudi cooperation and coordination as a key pillar to protecting Arab national security. This is in addition to countering foreign interferences in the sovereign affairs of the region’s countries as well as endeavors to sow division among them, which have recently led to fomenting tension and fueling conflicts as well as terrorist and extremist activities in the region. President El Sisi reiterated Egypt’s unwavering position with regard to the security of the Gulf and emphasized its rejection of any practices that seek to destabilize it.

Ahead of his departure from Cairo, HRH Prince Mohamed bin Salman expressed his deep appreciation for the warm reception he received during his visit, confirming that it reflected the longstanding, firm and robust relations that bind the government and peoples of Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
