Spokesman for the Presidency,
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that President El-Sisi was briefed on
progress in the upgrading of all components of the civil aviation system,
including air navigation, the aircraft fleet, and airports, as well as the
development of Human Resources. The meeting followed-up on the development
program of the Egyptian aviation, which includes upgrading the infrastructure
of airports, expanding their capacity, and improving the quality of services
provided to passengers.
The meeting also touched on the
potential role that aviation can play in supporting national development
programs, by transforming Egypt into a global logistics hub. This would enhance
investments, increase export and trade volumes, and keep pace with the ongoing
growth in inbound tourism to Egypt.
President El-Sisi gave
directives to continue efforts toward developing the aviation system in an
integrated manner, with the aim of achieving the required objectives that align
with the economic development plans. The President also emphasized the
importance of encouraging private sector participation in these efforts, in
line with the state's policy to support the private sector's role in the
national economy.
