Maait said: We are keen to meet the global demand by launching new paths, development opportunities and incentive benefits, in promising sectors that are more attractive and stimulating for foreign investments, in a way that contributes to achieving the goals and is consistent with the state’s efforts to empower the private sector and increase its contributions to economic activity for the sake of sustainability. growth, providing more job opportunities.

 

In his meeting with British Ambassador Gareth Bailey and a delegation from the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce, the minister praised the increase in the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Britain, looking forward to attracting more British investments in various fields, especially health, education and other sectors of national priority, as we have many competitive advantages. In renewable energy supporting the transformation of the green economy, and increasing the percentage of green public investment to 50% by 2025.

 

The minister added that we are committed to overcoming all challenges facing the local and foreign business community, to advance production and export, pointing to the simplification and automation of tax and customs procedures through the expansion of technological solutions. To reduce human interference and allow for the implementation of comprehensive and integrated digital transformation systems, while also committing to the stability of tax policies, which leads to encouraging investors around the world to make Egypt a center for their business and productive activities, and a gateway for exports to African and European countries.

 

British Ambassador Gareth Bayley said that Egypt has become an attractive destination for British investments, which amounted to about $21 billion, explaining that there is great interest from investors in Britain to maximize the benefit from the promising investment opportunities in Egypt.

 

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ehab Abu Al-Aish, Deputy Minister for Public Treasury Affairs, Dr. Mona Nasser, Assistant Minister for Follow-up and Customs Development Projects, Al-Shahat Ghaturi, Head of the Customs Authority, Major General Hossam Khader, Head of the Public Treasury and Coinage Authority, and Ambassador Dr. Hossam Hussein, Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Relations.
