is chairing the Extraordinary Online Meeting of the Bureau
of the African Union (AU) Specialized Technical Committee on Communication and
ICT (STC-CICT), organized through videoconference, on May 5. The meeting is
organized in collaboration with the AU Department of Infrastructure and Energy
(DIE).
The meeting aims to
discuss the efforts of the ICT sectors in Member States, for curbing the spread
of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). It brings together a number of involved
ministers from five countries: Egypt, Burundi, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Djibouti.
It is worth mentioning
that Egypt was elected the Chair of STC-CICT Bureau, during the STC-CICT Third
Ordinary Session, held in Sharm El Sheikh, on October 22-26, 2019.
